Andrew W.K. Forms The Party Party

Andrew W.K. has announced the formation of what he's calling "a new political party." He's named it the Party Party, has a launched a website, and made a video that, on the surface anyway, makes it look a lot like a legitimate movement for social and political change.

It's not clear if the Party Party is anything more than an incredible pun (or an early April Fools' joke). Andrew W.K. never really offers a wink through the entire video — or anywhere on the site — and the voters he interviews sound like they're sincerely addressing real and serious concerns. But regardless, he makes at least one compelling argument: "Buried deep inside this mountain of overwhelming national anxieties, complex international dilemmas, and endlessly competing principals, there is a fundamental truth — that we are all in this together."

Andrew W.K. says the Party Party has already filed the "relevant paperwork with the Secretary Of State," but asks supporters to sign an online petition to officially "qualify" the Party Party as a "political party."
