While writing a chapter on animal rights of an ethics text book, philosophy professor James Brusseau began asking how the animal studies could reflect back to reveal human truths. In his new book - Dignity, Pleasures, Vulgarity: Philosophy and Animal Rights - he pursues that question as it ranges from an accessible look at today’s philosophy of animal ethics, to an investigation of what we can learn about ourselves in the midst of thinking about animals.
