Louie Saenz

News and Public Affairs Director

Louie Saenz has been in the news broadcasting business for over thirty years. He has been a News Anchor and Reporter for KDBC-TV, KOAT-TV in Albuquerque, NM and KTSM-TV in El Paso. Saenz earned a degree in Journalism from NMSU, and a Masters in Communication from UTEP. He is currently the News & Public Affairs Director for KTEP-FM, and a lecturer in the Communication Department. He is also the host of Focus on Campus and co-host on El Paso Prime Time.

Miner Minutes

In honor of the UTEP Centennial Celebration, KTEP presents Miner Minutes.  Each weekday at 8:59am and 12:30pm, Norma Martinez and Louie Saenz will take a look back at the history of the University of Texas at El Paso.  UTEP's traditions, its people, it's unique architecture, and anniversaries of special events will all be celebrated in Miner Minutes.

Focus on Campus devotes time to recognize the latest and greatest on the UTEP campus. Louie Saenz, gives the lowdown on shining athletes, faculty and students. The show also includes information on ongoing research and university programs affecting our campus. It's everything you need to know about UTEP.

Perspectives

Perspectives is a weekly program that targets issues that concern the local community. Since 1990, host Louie Saenz has been giving you an understanding of what’s going on in El Paso. The show covers local political issues, health news and updates, and world events. Perspectives gives you an opportunity to hear what the city is doing about various issues with in-studio interviews with the El Paso Chief of Police, doctors and non-profit organizations.
