Friday Night Blues features the best blues from yesterday & today. The program is hosted by Norma Martinez. Since 1995, Norma has been playing everything from old scratchy recordings of the early 20th century, to the latest in blues rock. You can enjoy hearing all the joys and pains of life from great artists who capture every emotion with a belting harmonica or an electric guitar. Norma plays blues from around world, but no matter where the music comes from, it all hits the hearts of listeners with power.

  The Red White and Blues Festival Aug. 13

The party is on for the Mesilla Valley Jazz and Blues Society 3rd annual Blues Festival. From 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, the lush lawn of St. Clair Winery & Bistro, 1720 Avenida de Mesilla will grooving to the sound of the Blues.

Featuring performances by Pat “Guitar Slim” Chase followed by Austin Jim Murphy and the highlight of the event Joe “King” Carrasco.

2016 Blues Blast Music Award Nominations Announced

In early May, a group of Blues music industry professionals including music critics, journalists, festival promoters, music venue managers, producers, musicians and other Blues music industry professionals nominated the best in Blues music in twelve categories. Indie/blues guitarist/vocalist Jackie Venson will be performing on Wed Aug 03 at 8pm at State Line.  Venson dropped several new tracks and videos and is preparing  to release her album, Jackie Venson Live, this September.  Jackie showcases "an astonishing mix of raw soul, superb musicianship and laid back grace.” (The Austin American-Statesman) Daughter of Austin music staple, Andrew Venson, Jackie’s early drive for music led her to Boston’s Berklee College of Music."Austin’s got no shortage of indie blue

The Austin-based blues band The Nightowls will perform Wed, July 27 at 8pm at the State Line Restaurant (1222 Sunland Park Dr.) as part of the State Line Music Series.

  The King's X at 4119 N. Mesa hosts a Blues Open Jam on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month at 8 p.m
