Florence Schwein
Florence links senior experiences with a wealth of diverse life ways of a mature audience. She is also the host of Desert Diaries, airing weekdays at 9am on KTEP. During her 25 years in the museum field, she served as the outreach director for the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C.; director of the Cleveland, Ohio, Police Museum; and director of the Centennial Museum and Chihuahuan Desert Gardens at UTEP. Schwein has taught art history at Southeastern University, Washington, D.C.; Montgomery County College, Rockville, Maryland; and George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia. She teaches Art History in the Osher Life-Long Learning Institute (OLLI), and serves on the Heritage Commission to preserve university history at the University of Texas at El Paso.
Desert Diaries
Desert Diaries is a show that tells you everything you never knew about the wonder of our Chihuahuan Desert region. These short natural & cultural history stories provide listeners with information about the flora, fauna, and cultural history of our area.
